Pich Sophear

 
Pich Sophea was born in Me Sang district, prey Veng Province, Cambodia in 1985.  Her father is Ou Sarin and mother is Nov Sarun.  Sophea is the youngest child in the family and she also got other three sisters. Sophea told Popular (Prochea Prey) magazine that she had attended to Pras Sisovath College and had to quit school when she was in 11th grade because of her family's poverty.  She had no goal to become a singer or star at the time when she was selling sugarcane and snails, she only wanted to survive each day to support her parents and family.  Obviously, selling sugarcane and snails did not give her enough financial strength to support her family and that when she decided to try something new. 

She and her mother then were hunting from one restaurant to another to find her a job and then a restaurant in Phnom Penh hired her.  She later sang for an entertainment club.  She told Popular Magazine the reason why she was able to sing for Reasmey Hang Meas was because a TVK producer introduced her to one of the Resmey Hang Meas's song writers.  Then they helped her to get an audition and she got hired by Rasmey Hong Meas.  Not long enough after then, she became a star! She is in a 6 years contract with Rasmey Hang Meas since 2003. Sophea said she was very confident in her career and future and it was her career in the entertainment that made her family better off.
